I have moved to here
I needed a fresh start with my blog so head on over and you could win something.
C U there!
I have been doing Project Life since the 1st Jan 2011. I didn’t take alot of photo’s last year and wanted to change that so I decided to do project life. So on the 1st I took my first photo which was the house i am renting and have been taking photo’s everyday since. It’s amazing what I have taken photo’s of…..our pile of socks (I hate matching socks..LOL!!!), a tea cup I turned into a pin cushion, etc.
It’s nice to do this and look back on even a week into Jan. I am enjoying it and having fun with it. The kids are over it and think it’s a waste of time…what do they know.
Here are the pages I have done…
Will add more soon as I have done a few more pages than this but haven’t taken photo’s.
Ok, I know I am about 25 days late but better late then never, right?
I have a few things I am planning on doing in 2011 and I am looking forward to it/them. Noah heads off to school this year and I will have some time for me and I will be making the most of it that’s for sure. I am glad to see the back of 2010. It sucked big time, the worst year of my 37 years!
I am doing Project Life which I must say I am loving. A photo a day i thought ‘crap’ i can’t do that but hey I can. Last year wasn’t a great year photo wise either. The camera didn’t get used much and for a scrapbooking that is BAD!
I have ordered and picked up papers from Scrappin’ Patch to do an album of Noah’s first year of school. I so can’t wait to be mummy help at school and play….LOL!! Lots of photo’s and making stuff. I even played with glue, ribbons and paper at preschool last week. I LOVED it! LOL!!
OMG! sending a child to high school isn’t cheap, is it? Just think what scrap goodies I could get for all that money…LOL!!But I must say Jarrod looks very cool in his uniform and so grown up. He will be 14 in March and is so much taller than me but according to Jarrod that isn’t hard…haha!
I have been busy working on Little Shop of Sketches to start back in Feb. I have been also playing around with different things in my craft room….
a bit of a mess but can’t be tidy and creative, right? These are my flowers I’ve been playing around with and a layout from one of my sketches from last year…
And this layout was using photo’s Neil took while Noah was on holiday with him….I put 3 on the layout and the rest are in the paper bag behind the photo’s.
And this one was from my Christmas Night with Jan.
Well, I have lots to share so will come back soon with more…..
Ok, I haven’t posted since forever but as this is the last day of 2010 I thought I would. I am going to be starting 2011 in a great way by going out tonight for new years. The last time I went out on new years was about 7 years ago. I know!!
As you all know 2010 hasn’t been a great time for me. I would say 2010 has been the worst year of my life. 2011 will see Noah start school and Jarrod going off to High school so with that 2011 is my year to get better and do things for me. Gym, scrappy, lunches with friends etc. With everything this year I had been hiding away and not catching up with people so 2011 will be busy busy busy.
I have a new year to look forward to so I brought Project Life
the week before Christmas and I am looking forward to doing that. This Christmas has been very low key for us but perfect. I had the boys Christmas eve till 2pm Christmas Day. I went and had Christmas dinner with my Mum. NO!!! Not MY mum. I spent Christmas dinner with Jan, a lady who I have known for many years and has been a better mum to me that my real mum. It was a lovely day.
I didn’t put up my big Christmas tree this year as we only moved here on the 17th Nov and couldn’t really face Christmas with the trouble with my parents and my sister. But I did put up my little tree and a few christmas things around the house…
As last Christmas was different for us than the norm I started a new Christmas tradition
is to open a present on Christmas eve. The boys love it and we do it as a family (just me and my boys). Lots of different feelings this Christmas for me. Was hard to watch Noah leave at 2pm Christmas day with Neil and that Neil’s girlfriend is here from auckland and she will be looking after Noah for a few days. HATE it but I let him go. A step forward to me. I did get an invite to have dinner with Neil and Vicky. I can’t believe they asked really, I won’t repeat the words I used. Everything still hurts!
But I am moving on, well trying!
Here are a few photo’s of the boys from Christmas eve and Christmas morning…
Ok, I was meant to go out tonight but I didn’t so I am off to bed just after midnight. Spent the night with my friend, her daughter and my boys.
Hope everyone has a awesome 2011 and lets forget about the crappy 2010 that is about to leave us.
Happy New Year!
First up, Artfull Crafts is doing a 10 week countdown to Christmas on their blog. The design team girls are busy being creative for you all each week so don’t forget to pop over there and check out what we are all up to. The first week was cards and there are some very cool ideas.
This is my card that went up last week…
This was using the new Teresa Collins Christmas papers, I love Teresa Collins products and couldn’t wait to get started.
I am heading to Timaru next Saturday for a day of cropping and was
asked by Liz to teach my card above. Kid free weekend so heading out of town for the night scrapping.
These layouts are cos I can scrapbook…..LOL!!
Feed the ducks!
me then, me now!
Claudia the mermaid!
And this layout was done at the Scrappin’ Patch Crop a week ago, Thanks Robbi!
This layout I gave to Halswell School. The big tree at the front of the school had to come down after the earthquake and I took photos and did this layout for the school.
I have lots more to share but the layouts just need to be finished. We update when have finished.
Hope you all are having a great weekend.
Well we have settled into my parents home for the short term until I can find another house for the boys and myself. Things are ok and I feel good.
My mum set up a table in her’s and my sister’s craft room for me to sit and scrap and i have most of my stuff here which is great. My friend Debbie came over on Friday night my sister Rachael, Debbie and I scrapped. It was nice to catch up with a friend and scrap. Lots of laugh’s, choc and lollies 🙂
My first parcel from Artfull Crafts for my design team work arrived and I was busy working away on layouts
Then Liz asked me to do a challenge layout with the K&Co grab bag comp she was running so here is my layout…
Then Christchurch had a earthquake and I had to put things on hold while I sorted stuff and moved out of my rental. Now at mum’s and have somewhere to scrap I have finished doing my design team work with these christmas layouts…
and a card
And this layout I didn’t get time to do was for sketch #70 from Little Shop of Sketches….but now have
Jarrod and Leigh will be going to a different school each next term for about 4 weeks and then everyone will return to Halswell School. They are adding temp class rooms on the field at the moment for the kids. The school is working really hard to get all the kids back together ASAP….
The big tree at the front of the school had to be taken down and this was sad to see it go but it wasn’t safe after the earthquake…
Well, that’s it for now.
I think a change of my blog is in order. I have moved out of the house that Neil and I shared together and I feel great. I think I should have done it a long time ago, but when your going through a breakup you don’t think of those things. And I know this isn’t a nice thing but the earthquake has helped me in so many ways. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I have moved in with my parents and put my stuff in storage until I can find a safe house for me and my boys.
The boys are happy here so that’s good and I’m happy to. Mum and Dad have been just awesome and so helpful and caring.
I do have an issue on my hands with the landlord and could end up in court but I’m feeling good so bring it on…LOL!!! A couple of the windows in the house, you can see through the window frame when the windows are closed, lots of cracks, the whole corner of the house has dropped and the front and back door had also dropped and they think that’s ok.
Here are some photo’s from the house after the earthquake….
There are alot of other damage to the house and I don’t want to pay $470 a week rent when the landlord thinks this is ok. Hello!!!! I don’t!
I lost some stuff in the earthquake….broken photo frames, a white cupboard broke in half, I lost my cuttlebug and cricut machine, lost some food from the cupboard, some of my shelves from my craft room, the bleach fell off the shelf and bleached some of my new towels.
Photos of my craft room after the earthquake…..
This was such a mess to clean up and put everything back.
No scrapping as I have only just got my stuff to my mums today. I have somewhere to scrap which is just great. I can’t wait to get into it. It’s been 2 weeks and 2 days since I scrapped…..LOL!!
Well better go and get off the computer.
I thought a wee update was in order. I have been scrapping and thought I would share. I came across this blog via Facebook and had to share..
Go check it out, it’s very cool!
Anyway, on the 16th July this sketch went up for a challenge and I just loved the sketch so did a layout on Friday night while scrapping with Debbie
And here is my take on this sketch…
I so love this sketch and had to do a layout, this is my school photo from 1980, don’t look for me…LOL!!!
Little Shop of Sketches is going well with my 2 new designers, Kim and Lindy. The sketches are done using digital kits from the lovely Louise Williams, thanks chickie!
Here are the last 2 sketches using Louise’s kits…
And here are my layouts….
This next layout I did just cos’ The photo was taken many moons ago…LOL!!! It of me, Jarrod, Leigh and my aunty and uncle.
And this next one is the last layout from a kit I brought from Scrappin’ Patch that Hannah did…..love how it turned out. Just needs dates etc and it’s done.
Well, that’s about it for now on the scrappy front as I have also been busy making and sorting stuff for the kids school fair. I am running the craft stall again and trying to get people to make things and help on the day is taking up a little bit of time. We have some awesome crafts from people so far. The fair is on at Halswell School on November 20th if you are in Christchurch. I will add more at a later dated about the fair.
Anyway, better go. Things to do, people to see…LOL!!!
These are the layouts I sent in to Liz at Artfull Crafts. I am over the moon that I was picked for the design team for the next year.
Congratulations also to
Don’t forget to check out Artfull Crafts website for the other DT girls work, stunning!
Till next time
Well the first week of the holidays is over. It has been a good week. As much as I love my wee Noah it’s been nice spending time with just Jarrod and Leigh while Noah has been at preschool. Doesn’t happen often so when it does it’s nice. Rugby training last week for Jarrod but none for Leigh. Jarrod played Saturday but they lost there game. Jarrod isn’t happy.
Kid free weekend for me, I had a great weekend. My friend Sarah brought me Sushi for lunch and we went scrappy shopping and I didn’t buy anything 😦 HAHAHA! Sad I know.
Did the housework on Friday so I didn’t have to do any of it on my free weeknd. I have a cold and have for a week now and I’m over it. Noah also has a cold and Jarrod is getting the start of it, just as well they are on holiday.
Here are some layouts I did at the KB retreat I had here last month…lol!
This first one was for the last sketch over at Little Shop of Sketches, sketch #65
These next ones are from kits I brought from Scrappin’ Patch
I just love Hannah’s Kits she does for Scrappin’ Patch and work well as I have boys to..LOL!!!
And another kit from Scrappin’ Patch
These layouts aren’t normally my type of layouts but I stepped outside me comfort zone and did them and love how they turned out.
Thanks Heidi and Hannah for these amazing kits 🙂
Well better fly, Have lots to do today
