Like one time at scrap camp…..

This is the saying that Debbie used over the weekend and it made all of us laugh.  It was a awesome weekend. We all got to meet the lovely Janine. I picked Janine up at Christchurch airport at 11-30am on the Friday and we headed for Mt Hutt. It was a great trip and there was even some snow on the side of the road.

This photo was what greeted us on the road up to Mt Hutt Retreat.  It was cold but we had 2 fires and a very large gas heater for the weekend so we weren’t cold.

 We had the lovely Janine founder of DigiRosa there for the weekend taking a class of a 8×8 hybrid layout. I really enjoyed the hybrid class and am thinking of doing more. 

This was my layout I did for the class,  isn’t wee Noah cute?  LOL!!!

And this was my second take on Janine’s class

I just need to journal on this and it’s done.

And another Nic class that I brought the kit and never started so camp was a good place to start and finish it…LOL!!!!

It’s the little things

 

This is our student Nin playing swing ball for the first time.  I’m still not 100% about this layout as it’s very different from what I do but I stepped outside my square and just did it. Neen’s kits are just awesome so don’t forget to check them out.

Neen also sponsored some kits to the retreat which the winners loved. Thanks Neen!

I also finished off some other layouts but most of them I still need to journal on so when I have they will be here. 

The spa we had for the weekend was well used by a few people.  Lisa, Bee and Kathryn got in.

Catch up

WOW!!! Doesn’t time fly when your having fun. I haven’t posted since my birthday, how sad is that. 

I have been busy getting things sorted for the Mt Hutt Retreat which is 19th, 20th and 21st June.  Not long now and I know I’m looking forward to the break away. We are having all the sponsorship goodies arriving and the last of it arrives next Thursday just in time….Well I’m hoping it arrives Thursday…LOL!!!!

We have 11 sponsors for this retreat and we have some awesome prizes. Check out the retreat blog and see who the sponsors are.  Haven’t been doing alot of scrapping as haven’t had the time but lets hope I can get some done at the retreat. 

Neil is away in Wellington this week for work so not alot of work being done, just keeping the kids happy and the house in order is enough I think. My car went and had 4 new tyres today and is in the garage for a few things done to it and a WOF and Noah and I even washed it today.  Looks like a new car…LOL!!

Jarrod’s been playing rugby this season and he is doing really well. He is playing in the U13’s and he is having a awesome time.  Training 2 times a week and last Saturday Jarrod scored his first try and got back of the day.  He was over the moon and still is and can’t stop talking about it.  I told him if he scored a try on my weekend I would give him $10 and the first thing he said to me was ‘pay up mother’….I mean how rude….LOL!!! I am soooo proud of him.

Happy Birthday to me

Today I turned 36. I have had a great birthday with lots of texts, phone calls, emails and visitors. Thanks to all my friends and family who remembered me today. 

It started with breakfast in bed from Neil and the boys along with presents. Jarrod brought me PINK PJ’s, Leigh brought me a PINK candle set and Noah brought me a little PINK candle and PINK cards.  They know me so well…LOL!!! My friend Marise pop in this morning with a present which was nice but I was still in my PJ’s and no make up on…..LOL!!!

My friends Marise and Tania also took my out last weekend to dinner and movies. Thanks guys!

Today I meet up with my lovely friend Sarah who took me to Soho for lunch today.  I had a great time Sarah, thank you!  There was a birthday greeting on the radio this morning also from Sarah, thanks chick!   Neil brought dinner home so I didn’t have to cook and then we had choc cake.  Neil and the boys put candles on the cake but only did 3 but Jarrod clapped 40 times and 1 for luck. Cheeky little bugger! 

I have had the most perfect day, it will be a birthday I will remember.

Catch up!

Well the kids are back at school and I get some time to myself, YAHOO!!!! It wasn’t bad over the holidays as the first week Jarrod and Leigh spent 4 days at their Nana Val’s and then a night at home and then the weekend at their Dad’s. Didn’t do alot with the kids as I wasn’t feeling great but am on the road to feeling better, today is a good day.  I had a WOF at the doctor and was given  the all clear but one thing.  I am ok nothing to worry about and I am dealing with it.

I haven’t been in the mood for scrapping for a while but wanted to. Every time I went to scrap I just couldn’t do it.  BUT I am back and have done some scrapping. Some are scrap lifts from different places and some are mine.  So thought I would share….

Update!

It’s been awhile since I posted on here but just really needed some time after everything that has happened.  Life sure is hard to deal with sometimes but everyday is better than the last. The boys are doing great, talking alot about their grandad and wanting to spend more time with their dad.  I was wanting to change alot of things within myself and I have, things that most people won’t see but things have changed for the better. 

I have been working a few days at K&K Fashions and a couple of weeks ago we had a VIP night for our customers and I am a model for the night.  It was alot of fun last year when I did it so said yes to this years one.   I wasn’t sure on some of the clothes that I had to wear but I did a try on and they were fine.

Jarrod is playing rugby this season and his first game was last Saturday. He is so happy and just can’t stop talking about it.  A couple of weeks ago we won tickets to the Crusaders vs Stormers game.  As we won 2 tickets we brought 2 more and Neil and I took Jarrod and Leigh.  Jarrod and Neil sat in a different part of the stadium to Leigh and I but we still had a great night.  It wasn’t a great game but Crusaders won, so that’s all the matters, right?  LOL!!! Leigh and I were right at the top of the stand which were great seats.

Last week we had a crop at home and we all got to meet Yvette and little Isaac.  Noah and Isaac got on really well and played together nicely.  You wouldn’t even know they were here.

The day was great, there were 8 of us scrapping away but the day went so fast and it was home time before we knew it.  I am catching up with Yvette again before she heads home after the holidays. 

I have a lot to update but this post could go on forever so will update again soon.

Finding it hard to cope

Well must of you know that alot has happened in the last few weeks. 3 have died, a car crash and a friends 22 year old daughter ill in hospital. This morning we heard that my friends daughter has only a matter of weeks left and I am finding it hard to cope with everything that life has thrown at me.

The one thing I did do on Tuesday after my FIL’s funeral was go and see my parents. It’s been 6 years and I went there and made peace with my mum and dad.  It was hard to go as wasn’t sure how it would go but I went and spent an hour talking to my mum.  I haven’t forgotten what has happened between us but I am so over it and just want to be happy with them in my life.  I told my mum I didn’t want to be told her or dad had died before we made peace.

The last few weeks have sucked big time and this has made me rethink life and what I want.  I haven’t put anything in place yet but it will happen.
